Boxing
Day 2018 1400
I
was more prophetic than I realised in my previous post.
The
meal itself went very well and the ham thankfully defrosted in time.
I even made successful brandy butter AND lit the brandy over the
pudding without burning the place down.
Unfortunately
once everybody else left, Brenda tarried awhile. I wouldn't have
minded but she imparted the information that her boss had implied
that I would be finished here in the summer. All in all, a momentous
day.
It
has rather taken the sheen off things today and I am not in the mood
for much today. Annie and Alice are coming in a while to make
dumplings, I had suggested I also make my own version but can't be
bothered. I could really do without the hassle of getting to know a
new school and moving again. To be fair to Brenda she suggested I
rally the support of the people on east campus to exert pressure and
failing that, she would introduce me to another university here. I
just don't need this at my age.
Kevin
is seriously contemplating shutting up shop in summer too, relocating
to the Philippines and his house there, probably doing some online
teaching to get additional income.
Sometimes
I hanker for a dull existence.
